Lobster Roll

Hello lovelies, hope you had a great week so far. today in the recipe day I like to post kinda main course meal that I made 2 nights ago and it's called lobster roll. I am not a big fan of the whole lobster, to be honest its whole image freaks me out. so I did not buy a fresh ( I mean alive) lobster before and I still don't see it in me. but I love the meat so I buy the meat only from time to time and here is one of the ways that we have them.the quantities that are listed was enough for about 2-3 people so you could adjust depending on your need.
Ingredients:
8 ounces cooked fresh lobster, cooled and refrigerated
3 tablespoons mayonnaise
Salt and pepper
1 rib celery, finely diced
2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
2 teaspoons finely chopped chives ( I did not have fresh ones so I used dry instead)
1 scallion, finely chopped,
2 soft sandwich rolls ( or hot dog buns)
Lettuce and pickles for sandwich
First start by cutting the lobster meat into about1-inch sections and put them in a bowl;

them mix the  mayonnaise and season with salt and pepper. add in the diced celery, lemon juice, chives, and scallion and well blend it.

I personally like to put it in the fridge for about an hour or so, and then use lettuce and pickles in the the sandwich roll with the lobster mix. but the meal is ready right away and you could have it :)

Hope you try this and enjoy as well,
till next time :)

Obsession du jour : Dear Sam Edelman...

I've been obsessed with your shoe designs as long as I remember and I can summarize all in one sentence " I love your shoes " and that's all ;)
Well to be honest I love the shoes hate their prices most of the times; but this week at "The Bay" stores they were on sale for 30% or something like that ;so I ran there as soon as I could.  I probably tried about 20 pairs or even more and as usual most of my favorite ones were sold out. the sale person managed to find one for me :) and I got it; yooohoo !well I wanted to get more but I controlled myself ;)
This is the one I got :)

This one I had on my list for a LONG time ...a coral cute flat :), it was from last year collection I think.
They had a lot of gladiator styles but I was looking for something with heels and I had enough of those gladiator styles already ( from last summers since they been in style for a couple of years now) but they are very nice too :)
So for any shoe lover out there, let's all enjoy them together :)
These were all sold out in my size so I gave up ( for now !) . I love wedge shoes, still enjoying the height with a comfortable feel :)
Happy Wednesday everyone :)

Review: La Roche-Posay Toleriane Facial Fluid

Hello lovelies, hope you are fine and had a pleasant weekend and week so far. today sunject will be face moisturizer and in particular: TOLERIANE FLUID by LA ROCHE-POSAY
I am a big fan of La Roche-Posay products; I used a couple of them which actually loved. It’s a French skin care line with products for any skin type and problem. I know they use to have also foundation but not anymore which I don’t know why. They are sold here in Canada at Pharmaprix (Shoppers drug mart) and Jean Coutu stores.  They are little bit on the pricy side but honestly they worth every penny.
In this post I will talk about one of my recent La Roche-Posay product called:

About Novemner 2011 I started to use 2 Kiehl's product (which were awful by the way) and my skin started to react very badly, it became red, very dry and irritated. So I needed a moisturizer that could help the dryness but at the same time suitable for oily skin since I did not want to have any breakouts. And also something that was suitable for my current condition which was red and irritated skin.
The TOLERIANE line was just the perfect match, they are basically for sensitive, intolerant skins which could react easily to most chemical products. That’s why TOLERIANE moisturizers are mostly composed of water (about 50%) and minimum chemicals so any skin could tolerate. This is by far the lightest moisturizer I ever use. It comes as white milky liquid and absorbs to skin very fast without the feeling of greasy or anything.
It is ideal for combination to oily, intolerant skin;and also recommended for ezcema, rosacea, and acne-prone skins on their website.
As I said it has little but effective number of ingredients: Glycerin acts as a hydrating agent; Squalane acts as an emollient and skin protectant and Thermal Spring Water is a soothing antioxidant.
This is my absolute favorite moisturizer ever and I did repurchase it again...
Hope this was helpful to you
Have a great Tuesday :)

Cajun Shrimp and Rice

This is one of the things that I made last week for the first time and it was really. it is little bit on the spicy side but still delicious so if you are not a big spicy person just ease off on those cayenne peppers. this recipe uses Cajun seasoning which I also made myself so it's recipe is also down there.
Ingredients for Cajun seasoning:
1/4 cup (50 mL) paprika
1/4 cup (50 mL) dried parsley
2 tbsp (25 mL) garlic powder
2 tbsp (25 mL) dried oregano
2 tbsp (25 mL) dried thyme
1 tsp (5 mL) salt
1/2 tsp (2 mL) cayenne pepper
Mix all these together in a bowl together, you could make this ahead and store at room temperature.

Ingredients for Cajun shrimp and rice (this amount serves 4)
1 tablespoon of unsalted butter
2 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 teaspoon of Cajun seasoning
1 pound of large shrimp
4 chopped plum tomatoes
2 chopped scallions
3 cups of cooked white rice
3 tablespoon of chopped fresh parsley
Salt and pepper
Lemon for serving
In a large skillet heat the butter, olive-oil and garlic over medium heat for about 1 minute.

Add the Cajun seasoning and shrimp, cook it for about 2 minutes or until the shrimp begin to curl. season with salt and pepper.

Add the tomatoes, scallions to the skillet and cook for about 1 minute.
Add the rice and 1/4 cup water and let them cook with lid on for about 4-5 minutes.

Stir the parsley on top and serve it with lemon if you like. as I mentioned before this is really good and if you try it I am sure you won't be disappointed.
So till next time :)

Friday 5

Another Friday is here and oh my this week was even faster :). well what we can do, other than  trying to take the most of the days because like it or not they go fast ...
Here are my this week's  5 favorite stuffs:

1. Having a beautiful long weekend, I wish every week was like this: 3 days of fun weekend; well ,it's just a wish. the weather was great and we enjoyed it a LOT, did a lot of walking outside, going to movies.... I managed to start my closet cleaning and I discovered (!!) lots of stuff that I owned but kinda were forgotten due to new stuff coming on top :) so all good.

2. Vichy cream blush in Bronze, I started to wear my cream bronzer this week ( which I had for couple of years) . I used it every day of the week. since it's a cream product it blends very well into the skin and gives a nice glowy bronzed look, exactly in placed that sun normally hit:) I use kabuki brush and blend it on back of my hand ( so I don't have excessive product on my face) and blend it to my skin then depending on how much darker I want to go I use more from my hand or not. blending it well is the key to prevent from having Adidas stripes on the face ;) believe me that I've seen faces like that.

3. This is my all time favorite song of Lifehouse and it gives me goose bumps every time I listen to them. ....Even if I lose the game, I'm all in, I'm all in for life "

4. NBA playoff games, yes I love and enjoy watching them. me and my hubby both have been into NBA playoffs for as long as I remember. this week was conference east and west finals and next week the winner of 2 conferences will play each other in 7 games and we are both cheering for Miami Heats this year against Dallas Mavericks ( which I absolutely can't stand).

5.Reading funny books, I started another book this week and it is hilarious. I am sitting on the couch and reading and suddenly start  laughing and my hubby runs and ask me "what ... what happened... what are you laughing at ... "the book is called "One for the Money" by Janet Evanovich and it is a mystery book but her way of writing and storytelling is so funny!! I love it and it's in series so I'll be reading her books for a while :)

That was all for this week, hope you all enjoyed your week and have a nice weekend:)
Love,
Mania
